Invertebrate Paleontology is the examine of fossil animals that lack notochords (non-vertebrates). A big donation of fossils from BP-Amoco expanded the invertebrate paleontology collection into a unique useful resource for research. Most teams of invertebrates and geologic ages are represented within the IMNH collection including sponges, corals, trilobites, insects, crustaceans, clams, snails, sea urchins, and sea lilies.
