Atmospheric ChemistryThe chemical composition of the environment, including gases and particles (aerosols), are continually altering on account of natural events equivalent to volcanic eruptions and because of human actions, including the results of emissions from fossil gas burning. The Laboratory also research the processes that control the composition of Earth’s troposphere, the affect of human exercise on international atmospheric air pollution, and the impression of local weather change on future concentrations of stratospheric ozone and tropospheric gases.
